The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
