In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
Recite in the name of your Lord who created - 1 Hath created man from a clot! 2 Recite: And thy Lord is the Most Generous, 3 He Who taught (the use of) the pen,- 4 taught man what he did not know! 5 By no means: Verily man exorbitateth. 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Verily unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What do you think? Have you seen he who forbids 9 a worshipper from praying? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 Or he commandeth piety? 12 Do you see how he has denied the truth and turned away from it? 13 Did he not realise that Allah is watching? 14 No indeed; surely, if he gives not over, We shall seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then let him call upon his henchmen! 17 We, will call the Zabania (the harsh angels of Hell). 18 Nay, pay thou no heed to him, but prostrate thyself [before God] and draw close [unto Him]! ۩ 19
