The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the shining star -- 3 There is not a soul but over it is a keeper. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 He shall have neither strength nor helper. 10 Consider the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 And by the Earth which opens out (for the gushing of springs or the sprouting of vegetation),- 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 not a flippant jest. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 But I am planning a plan. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
