And assuredly the dwellers of Hijr belied the sent ones. 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 Then the Blast caught them in the morning 83 and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 (Muhammad), We have given you the seven most repeated (verses) and the great Quran. 87 Do not strain your eyes after what We have given certain classes of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and make yourself gentle to the believers. 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 By your Lord We shall question them one and all 92 about whatever they had been doing! 93 Then declare what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 Those who adopt, with Allah, another god: but soon will they come to know. 96 We do indeed know how your heart is distressed at what they say. 97 But hymn the praise of thy Lord, and be of those who make prostration (unto Him). 98 Worship your Lord till the certainty (death) comes to you. 99
