It is He who sends down water from heaven, which provides drink for you and brings forth trees on which your herds feed. 10 and by virtue of which He causes crops and olives and date-palms and grapes and all kinds of fruit to grow for you. Surely in this there is a great Sign for those who reflect. 11 And He subjected the night and the day for you – and the sun and the moon; and the stars are subjected to His command; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 12 And what He has created in the earth of varied hues most surely there is a sign in this for a people who are mindful. 13 And He it is Who has subjected the sea (to you), that you eat thereof fresh tender meat (i.e. fish), and that you bring forth out of it ornaments to wear. And you see the ships ploughing through it, that you may seek (thus) of His Bounty (by transporting the goods from place to place) and that you may be grateful. 14 God has fixed the mountains on earth lest you should be hurled away when it quakes. Therein He has also made rivers and roads so that you will find your way. 15 as well as [various other] means of orientation: for [it is] by the stars that men find their way. 16 Is there one who createth like unto one who createth not? Will ye not then be admonished? 17 If ye would count up the favours of Allah, never would ye be able to number them: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. 18 God knows all that you conceal or reveal. 19 And those they invoke other than Allah create nothing, and they [themselves] are created. 20 They are dead, not living; nor do they know when they will be raised to life. 21
