The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
118 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa') before Prostration (Al-Sajdah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 those who humble themselves in their prayer, 2 and who turn away from all that is frivolous, 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 and guard their private parts 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 So whoever desires more than these two they are crossing the limits. 7 who are true to their trusts and their covenants, 8 and those who attend to their prayers; 9 These are the real gainers, 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 We created man from the finest extract of clay, 12 then We made him, a drop, in a secure receptacle (the womb). 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 and you will be brought back to life again on the Day of Resurrection. 16 And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 Then We produce for you therewith gardens of date-palms and grapes, wherein is much fruit for you and whereof ye eat; 19 We have also created for you the tree that grows on Mount Sinai which produces oil and relish for those who use it. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 And on them, and on ships you are carried. 22
