And the chiefs of his people who disbelieved and called the meeting of the hereafter a lie, and whom We had given plenty to enjoy in this world's life, said: This is nothing but a mortal like yourselves, eating of what you eat from and drinking of what you drink. 33 "If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, then verily! You indeed would be losers. 34 What, does he promise you that when you are dead, and become dust and bones, you shall be brought forth? 35 ۞ Away! away with that wherewith ye are promised; 36 "There is nothing but our life in this world! We shall die and we live! But we shall never be raised up again! 37 This man has forged a mere lie in the name of Allah and we shall never believe what he says." 38 He said: my Lord! vindicate for they belie me. 39 God replied, "After a very short time they will certainly regret for their deeds." 40 Then a mighty blast quite justly overtook them, and We reduced them to a rubble. So away with the wrong-doing folk! 41 Then We raised after them other generations. 42 no community can advance or postpone its appointed time, 43 then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time their messenger came to a people, they rejected him. So We destroyed them one after the other, and let them become mere tales. So away with the people who will not believe! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our signs and clear authority 45 Unto Fir'awn and his chiefs, but they grew stiff-necked, and they were a people self-exalting. 46 They therefore said, “Shall we believe in two humans like ourselves, whereas their nation is servile to us?” 47 So they rejected them and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And certainly We gave Musa the Book that they may follow a right direction. 49 and We made Mary's son, and his mother, to be a sign, and gave them refuge upon a height, where was a hollow and a spring: 50
