'O Messengers, eat of the good things and do righteousness; surely I know the things you do. 51 “And indeed this religion of yours is one religion only and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me.” 52 But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself. 53 So leave them in their error for a time. 54 Do they think that in giving them wealth and children 55 We are hastening to them of good things? Nay, they do not perceive. 56 Verily those who live in awe for fear of their Lord; 57 and who believe in their Sustainer's messages, 58 Those who join not (in worship) partners with their Lord; 59 Who give whatsoever they give (in His way), and their hearts tremble with fear that they have to go back to their Lord, 60 It is these who hasten in every good work, and these who are foremost in them. 61 We charge not any soul save to its capacity, and with Us is a Book speaking truth, and they shall not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in ignorance of this (Qur'an), and they have other works, besides, which they are doing; 63 But then when We seize the affluent among them, they will cry out for help. 64 Implore not today; verily ye from Us are not to be succoured. 65 Surely My signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back. 66 being proud against it, talking foolishness by night. 67 Do they not ponder over the Word (of Allah), or has anything (new) come to them that did not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or did they not recognise their apostle, and rejected him? 69 Or do they say, "He is possessed"? Nay, he has brought them the Truth, but most of them hate the Truth. 70 But if the Truth had followed their inclinations, the heavens and the earth and whoever is in them would have been ruined. Rather, We have brought them their message, but they, from their message, are turning away. 71 Or, is it that thou askest of them any maintenance? The maintenance of thy Lord is better, and He is the Best of providers. 72 But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way; 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way. 74 ۞ Were We to be merciful to them and remove from them their present afflictions, they would persist in their transgression, blindly wandering on. 75 And already We overtook them with chastisement, but they were not submissive to their Lord, nor do they humble themselves. 76 when We opened on them a gate of severe punishment, they utterly despaired. 77
