And rehearse to them (something of) Abraham's story. 69 When he said unto his father and his people: what worship ye? 70 They said: We worship idols, so we shall be their votaries. 71 He said: "Do they listen to you when ye call (on them)?" 72 or benefit you or do you harm?" 73 They said, "No, but our fathers worshipped them." 74 Said [Abraham]: "Have you, then, ever considered what it is that you have been worshipping 75 Ye and your forefathers! 76 They are an enemy to me, except the Lord of all Being 77 “The One Who created me, so He will guide me.” 78 "Who gives me food and drink, 79 He who cures me when I am ill; 80 Who will cause me to die and then will again restore me to life; 81 And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense." 82 (And then Abraham prayed): "My Lord, endow me with knowledge and wisdom and join me with the righteous, 83 and grant me the power to convey the truth unto those who will come after me, 84 and place me amongst the inheritors of the Garden of Bliss. 85 Forgive my father. He has gone astray. 86 And humiliate me not on the Day whereon people shall be raised. 87 The Day whereon will profit neither substance nor sons. 88 But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart." 89 "To the righteous, the Garden will be brought near, 90 And Hell is brought near to the perverse' 91 And it will be said to them: "Where are those (the false gods whom you used to set up as rivals with Allah) that you used to worship 92 Other than God? Can they save you or even save themselves?" 93 So they and all the astray were flung into hell. 94 Together with the hordes of Iblis. 95 And there and then, blaming one another, they [who had grievously sinned in life] will exclaim: 96 'By God, we were certainly in manifest error 97 “When we considered you equal to the Lord Of The Creation.” 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 So we have no intercessors, 100 nor do we have a truly sincere friend. 101 Would that we might return again, and be among the believers' 102 In this there is evidence (of the truth), but many of them do not have any faith. 103 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 104
