Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Ha. Mim. 1 By the clear Book, 2 verily We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you may understand. 3 And verily it is, in the Original Book before Us, indeed exalted. 4 Should We divert this Good Counsel from you because you are a people immersed in extravagance? 5 Many a prophet had We sent to the earlier communities, 6 And never came there unto them a prophet but they used to mock him. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 And if thou (Muhammad) ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth, they will surely answer: The Mighty, the Knower created them; 9 Who hath made for you the earth a bed, and hath made for you paths therein that haply ye may be directed. 10 And Who sendeth down water from the sky in (due) measure, and We revive a dead land therewith. Even so will ye be brought forth; 11 He Who created these pairs, all of them, and provided you ships and cattle on which you ride, 12 So that when you sit astride of them and think of the bounties of your Lord, you may say: "All glory to Him who subjugated these for us. We were incapable of doing so. 13 "And to our Lord, surely, must we turn back!" 14 And from* His bondmen, they appointed a portion for Him; man is indeed an open ingrate. (* Appointed some of His creation as His sons and daughters). 15
