The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
The Hour hath drawn nigh, and the moon hath been rent in sunder. 1 And if they see a sign, they turn away, and say: "This is continuous magic." 2 And they call (it) a lie, and follow their low desires; and every affair has its appointed term. 3 And surely there hath come unto them news whereof the purport should deter, 4 Consummate wisdom-- but warnings do not avail; 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 abasing their eyes, they shall come forth from the tombs as if they were scattered grasshoppers, 7 Hastening toward the summoner. The infidels will say: this is a day diffrcult. 8 ۞ The people of Noah had denied before them, and had called Our votary a liar, and said: "He is possessed," and repulsed him. 9 Noah prayed, "Lord, help me; I am defeated". 10 Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down 11 And caused springs to gush out from the earth, so that the two waters met totalling a quantity that had been destined. 12 And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails, 13 Moving forward under Our eyes: a requital for him who had been rejected. 14 We have left this as a sign: but will anyone take heed? 15 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 16 And assuredly We have made the Qur'an easy for admonition; is there then any one who would be admonished? 17 TO THE TRUTH gave the lie [the tribe of] Ad: and how severe was the suffering which I inflicted when My warnings were disregarded! 18 We indeed sent towards them a severe windstorm, on a day the ill luck of which lasted upon them forever. 19 plucking up men as if they were stumps of uprooted palm-trees. 20 How was then My punishment and My commination! 21 And We have certainly made the Qur'an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember? 22
