The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 Then every soul shall know that which it hath presented. 14 So by oath of those that revolve. (The planets.) 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by the dawn as it brightens; 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 Mighty, established in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where then are you going? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
