Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
