Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 by (the angels) as swift as blowing winds, 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 thus separating [right and wrong] with all clarity, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 excusing or warning, 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 The heavens split asunder, 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 and when all the apostles are called together at a time appointed... 11 For what Day was it postponed? 12 Upon the Day of Decision! 13 And what knowest thou what the Day of Decision is? 14 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 So shall We make later (generations) follow them. 17 Even thus shall We deal with the guilty. 18 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 19 Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable?- 20 and place it in a secure place 21 For a certain appointed time, 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Did We not make the earth as a gathering place 25 The living and the dead, 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 It will throw out sparks as logs of wood 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 nor will they be allowed to proffer excuses. 36 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 40
