The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Of what do they question one another? 1 About the great tidings! 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 Indeed, they shall know! 4 Nay, again, they will come to know! 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 and fixed the mountains like pegs, 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 And made the night as clothing 10 And made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 And We have built above you seven firmaments, 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens of thick growth. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 the Day that the Horn is blown, and you shall come in crowds 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Surely, Hell lies in wait, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 They will abide therein for ages, 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 Save boiling water and a paralysing cold: 25 , A fitting reward. 26 For that they used not to fear any account (for their deeds), 27 And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. 30
