The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
When the sun shall be folded up, 1 And when the stars fall, dispersing, 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the heaven has its covering removed, 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) every soul will know what it had prepared (for itself). 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And the Dawn as it breathes away the darkness;- 18 That this is in truth the word of an honoured messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Where then are you going? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 And ye will not, unless (it be) that Allah willeth, the Lord of Creation. 29
