The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is cleft asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He shall call for perdition, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
