Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 issuing between the loins and the breast-bones. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 and it is certainly not a jest. 14 They (disbelievers) plot every evil plan, 15 And I secretly plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
