The Comet (Al-Taareq)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 Let man consider what he was made of: 5 He was created from spurting fluid, 6 Proceeding from between the backbone and the ribs: 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the day when all secrets will be made public, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By heaven of the returning rain, 11 and the replenishing earth, 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 And I am plotting a plot. 16 so bear with those who deny the truth, and let them be for a little while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
