Al-Taareq
The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
CONSIDER the heavens and that which comes in the night! 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So man must consider from what he has been created. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then he shall have no power nor any helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
