So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 he said, "You seem to be strangers". 62 They said: "Nay, we have come to you with that (torment) which they have been doubting. 63 And we have come to you with truth, and indeed, we are truthful. 64 "Then travel in a part of the night with your family, and you go behind them in the rear, and let no one amongst you look back, but go on to where you are ordered." 65 And We informed him the decision of this command, that at morning the root of the disbelievers would be cut off. 66 And the inhabitants of the city came rejoicing (at the news of the young men's arrival). 67 He said, 'These are my guests; put me not to shame, 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They said: forbade we not thee against the worlds? 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 And thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at the time of sunrise, 73 and We turned those [sinful towns] upside down, and rained down upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement pre-ordained. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Indeed in that is a sign for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 So We inflicted retribution on them, and they are both, indeed, on an open road (still) pursued. 79
