Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 (Muhammad), do not move your tongue too quickly to recite the Quran. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
