(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and We made his offspring the only survivors. 77 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 80 he was truly one of Our faithful servants. 81 Then We drowned the disbelievers. 82 ۞ And indeed, among his kind was Abraham, 83 he came to his Lord with a sound heart. 84 and [thus] spoke to his father and his people: "What is it that you worship? 85 Would you serve false deities instead of God? 86 What do you think of the Lord of the Worlds' 87 Then he looked carefully at the stars 88 And he said: "Verily, I am sick (with plague. He did this trick to remain in their temple of idols to destroy them and not to accompany them to the pagan's feast)." 89 So they went away from him, turning back. 90 Then he turned aside to their gods secretly and said: What! do you not eat? 91 What aileth you that ye speak not? 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 And (his people) came toward him, hastening. 94 He said: "Worship ye that which ye have (yourselves) carved? 95 When Allah hath created you and what ye make? 96 They said, 'Build him a building, and cast him into the furnace!' 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 And he said: Surely I fly to my lord; He will guide me. 99 My Lord, give me one of the righteous.' 100 Wherefore We gave him the glad tidings of a boy gentle. 101 And when he reached the age of traveling with him, he said: 'My son, while I was sleeping I saw that I shall slaughter (sacrifice) you, tell me what is your opinion' He replied: 'Father, do as you are ordered (by Allah). Allah willing, you shall find me one of those who are steadfast' 102 Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering); 103 We called unto him, 'Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 That was indeed a clear trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 and We preserved for him a good name among posterity. 108 'Peace be upon Abraham' 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 And We blessed him, and Isaac; and of their seed some are good-doers, and some manifest self-wrongers. 113
