[Moses] said, "My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance] 25 “And make my task easy for me.” 26 "And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]. [Tafsir At-Tabari, Vol. 16, Page 159]. 27 "So they may understand what I say: 28 "And appoint for me a helper from my family, 29 "Harun (Aaron), my brother; 30 "Add to my strength through him, 31 “And make him a partner in my task.” 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 Surely, Thou art seeing us. 35 He replied: 'Moses, your request is granted. 36 And assuredly We conferred a benefit on thee another time. 37 "Behold! We sent to thy mother, by inspiration, the message: 38 Saying: Put him into a chest, then cast it down into the river, then the river shall throw him on the shore; there shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him, and I cast down upon you love from Me, and that you might be brought up before My eyes; 39 Recall when your sister walked along and said, "Shall I guide you to one who will take care of him?" Thus We returned you to your mother, so that her eyes might be cooled and that she might not grieve. And you killed a man and We delivered you from sorrow. We tested you with various trials. You stayed for a number of years among the people of Midian, then you came upto the standard, Moses. 40 I have chosen you for Me. 41 "Go forth, [then,] thou and thy brother, with My messages, and never tire of remembering Me: 42 “Both of you go to Firaun; he has indeed rebelled.” 43 Then speak to him a gentle word haply he may mind or fear. 44 They said: Our Lord! Lo! we fear that he may be beforehand with us or that he may play the tyrant. 45 God said, "Do not fear; I am with you both. I hear and I see. 46 "So go ye both to him, and say, 'Verily we are messengers sent by thy Lord: Send forth, therefore, the Children of Israel with us, and afflict them not: with a Sign, indeed, have we come from thy Lord! and peace to all who follow guidance! 47 Indeed, it has been revealed to us that the punishment will be upon whoever denies and turns away.' " 48 (When this message was delivered), (Pharaoh) said: "Who, then, O Moses, is the Lord of you two?" 49 He said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance." 50 [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] said: "What about the generations of old?" 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 Who hath appointed the earth as a bed and hath threaded roads for you therein and hath sent down water from the sky and thereby We have brought forth divers kinds of vegetation, 53 Eat, and graze your cattle; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 54
