۞ But We shall say, "Assemble those who did wrong together with their associates and what they worshipped 22 Instead of Allah, and lead them to the path to hell; 23 And stop them; verily they are to be questioned: 24 "'What is the matter with you that ye help not each other?'" 25 Nay, but that day they shall submit (to Judgment); 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 They say: Lo! ye used to come unto us, imposing, (swearing that ye spoke the truth). 28 But they reply: 'Rather, you were not believers. 29 We had no power over you. In fact, you were a people rebellious. 30 Thus, the words of Our Lord about us have come true and now we are suffering the torment. 31 So then, [if it be true that] we have caused you to err grievously - behold, we ourselves had been lost in grievous error!" 32 On that day they will all share the torment. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 Whenever it was said to them: “There is no true deity apart from Allah,” they waxed proud 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Verily ye are going to taste a torment afflictive. 38 Ye are requited naught save what ye did - 39 But Allah's chosen servants (shall be spared this woeful end). 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 Fruits; and they will be honoured. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 Facing one another on thrones. 44 They will be served with a cup full of crystal clear wine, 45 Crystal-white, of a taste delicious to those who drink (thereof), 46 There shall be no trouble in it, nor shall they be exhausted therewith. 47 Theirs shall be wide-eyed maidens with bashful, restrained glances, 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 A speaker of them will say: "Verily, I had a companion (in the world), 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we be recompensed?" 53 He will say: -- Do you wish to know where he is now?' 54 Then looketh he and seeth him in the depth of hell. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 If it had not been for the blessing of my Lord, I would also have been taken to Hell." 57 Are we then not to die 58 [again,] beyond our previous death, and that we shall never [again] be made to suffer? 59 Verily, this - this indeed - is the triumph supreme!" 60 For the like of this then let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of al-Zaqqum? 62 We have made this tree a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 They can only return to hell. 68 Verily, they found their fathers on the wrong path; 69 But they make haste (to follow) in their footsteps. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 And indeed We had sent Heralds of warnings among them. 72 Then see what was the end of those who were warned (but heeded not). 73 Only Our sincere servants were saved. 74
