Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A throng of the ancients 39 and also a large throng from those of later times. 40 And those on the left hand: What of those on the left hand? 41 [They will be] in scorching fire and scalding water 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor beneficial. 44 Indeed they were among favours before this. 45 and had persisted in the Great Sin. 46 And said: "What! When we are dead and turned to dust and bones, shall we then be raised again? 47 Or our fathers of yore? 48 Say thou: verily the ancients and those of later generations: 49 "All will surely be gathered together for appointed Meeting of a known Day. 50 Then indeed you, O those astray [who are] deniers, 51 Ye verily will eat of a tree called Zaqqum 52 And fill (your) bellies with it; 53 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. 54 And drink as drinks the thirsty camel. 55 Such will be their dwelling on the Day of Judgment. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Have you ever considered that [seed] which you emit? 58 Create him ye, or are We the Creator? 59 It is We Who ordained death upon you and We are not to be frustrated. 60 that We will change you and cause you to grow again in a way you do not know. 61 And you have indeed learnt about the first creation, so why do you not ponder? 62 Ponder upon the soil you till, 63 Is it you who cultivate it, or is it We Who develop it? 64 If We will, We would make it broken stubble and you would remain wondering, 65 Surely we are burdened with debt: 66 Nay! we are deprived. 67 See ye the water which ye drink? 68 Is it you who sent it down from the clouds or is it We who have sent it down? 69 If We willed, surely We would make it brackish. Wherefore give ye not thanks? 70 Tell Me! The fire which you kindle, 71 Did you make its timber to grow, or did We make it? 72 We! it is We Who made it a reminder and a provision unto the campers. 73 Wherefore hallow thou the name of thy Lord, the Mighty. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
