The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Glorify the name of your Lord, the Most High, 1 Who created all things and fashioned them in good proportion; 2 Who measureth, then guideth; 3 and who brings forth herbage, 4 and then made it into a blackish straw. 5 We shall make thee read (O Muhammad) so that thou shalt not forget 6 except what Allah wills, surely, He knows all that is (spoken) aloud and what is hidden. 7 and [thus] shall We make easy for thee the path towards [ultimate] ease. 8 So render good counsel if good counsel will avail. 9 in mind will keep it he who stands in awe [of God,] 10 but the most wretched shall avoid it, 11 He who shall roast into the Great Fire, 12 Then he neither dies in it, nor lives. 13 Prosperous is he who purifies himself, 14 remembering his Lord's name and praying. 15 But nay, [O men,] you prefer the life of this world, 16 although the Hereafter is better and more lasting. 17 This is surely in the earlier Books, 18 the scriptures of Abraham and Moses. 19
