Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Say (O Muhammad): It is revealed unto me that a company of the Jinn gave ear, and they said: Lo! we have heard a marvellous Qur'an, 1 Which guides to the right path; and we have come to believe in it, and will not associate any one with our Lord. 2 He exalted be the Majesty of our Lord, who has neither taken to Himself a wife, nor a son! 3 and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”; 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 'True, there were persons among mankind who took shelter with persons among the Jinns, but they increased them in folly. 6 And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger]. 7 ‘And we reached the sky, so we found it strongly guarded and filled with comets.’ 8 'And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. 9 'And we understand not whether ill is intended to those on earth, or whether their Lord (really) intends to guide them to right conduct. 10 As for us, some of us are righteous and others are not. We have all followed different ways. 11 'And we think that we cannot escape (from the punishment of) Allah in the earth, nor can we escape (from the punishment) by flight. 12 When we heard the Guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his Lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. 13 and that “among us some are Muslims (Those who have submitted to Allah), and some of us are deviant. So those who became Muslims found the Right Course; 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 (And Allah's Message is): "If they (the Pagans) had (only) remained on the (right) Way, We should certainly have bestowed on them Rain in abundance. 16 So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment. 17 And that the mosques are Allah's, therefore call not upon any one with Allah: 18 When the servant of God stood calling on Him, they were wellnigh upon him in swarms. 19
