Have not those who disbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as one united piece, then We parted them? And We have made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? 30 And We have made great mountains in the earth lest it might be convulsed with them, and We have made in it wide ways that they may follow a right direction. 31 We have made the heaven a well-secured canopy; yet still they turn away from Our signs. 32 And He it is Who hath created the night and the day, and the sun and the moon, each in an orb floating. 33 And We did not ordain abiding for any mortal before you. What! Then if you die, will they abide? 34 Every soul shall taste death; We test you with both good and evil [circumstances] as a trial. To Us you shall return. 35 And when those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah) see you (O Muhammad SAW), they take you not except for mockery (saying): "Is this the one who talks (badly) about your gods?" While they disbelieve at the mention of the Most Beneficent (Allah). [Tafsir. Al-Qurtubi]. 36 Man is created of haste; now will I show to you My signs, therefore do not ask Me to hasten (them) on. 37 And they say, “When will this promise occur, if you are truthful? 38 If the unbelievers but knew when that they shall not ward off the Fire from their faces nor from their backs, neither shall they be helped! 39 Nay, it shall come on them all of a sudden and cause them to become confounded, so they shall not have the power to avert it, nor shall they be respited. 40 And indeed the Noble Messengers before you were mocked at, but their mockery ruined the mockers themselves. 41
