(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gives a little and (then) withholds. 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 That it is He who makes you happy and morose, 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 out of a [mere] drop of sperm as it is poured forth, 46 and that it is for Him to grant the second life, 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 as well as the people of Noah before them - [since,] verily, they all had been most willful in their evildoing and most overweening 52 And the overturned towns He hurled down 53 so that there covered it that which covered. 54 Then which of thy Lord's bounties disputest thou? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 that [Last Hour] which is so near draws ever nearer, 57 and none but Allah can avert it. 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
