Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
