The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Proclaim! (or read!) in the name of thy Lord and Cherisher, Who created- 1 Has created man from a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood). 2 Read: And thy Lord is the Most Bounteous, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 He taught the human being what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 For he thinks he is sufficient in himself. 7 Indeed, to your Lord is the return. 8 Have you seen him who restrains 9 A votary when he (turns) to pray? 10 What will happen if the praying person is rightly guided 11 or orders piety? 12 What is your opinion – if he denies and turns away, how wretched will be his state! 13 Is he then unaware that Allah seeth? 14 Nay, if he desist not, We shall most surely drag him down upon his forehead 15 A forelock that lies, is sinful. 16 Then, let him call his assembly, 17 We will call on the angels of punishment (to deal with him)! 18 Nay! (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him))! Do not obey him (Abu Jahl). Fall prostrate and draw near to Allah! ۩ 19
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
