The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wrapped up [in darkness] 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and the mountains have been taken, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas boil over, 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the girl-child that was buried alive is made to ask 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 The rising dawn, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 Assuredly he beheld him in the horizon manifest. 23 He is not avid of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 So where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
