Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (Winds) that scatter broadcast; 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 What you are promised is certainly true: 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night, 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 In the heavens there is your sustenance and that which you were promised (Paradise). 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
