The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the Great News 2 Regarding which they hold different views. 3 No indeed; soon will they come to know; 4 Again surely yes, they will soon come to know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and We appointed day for a livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 and placed in them a blazing lamp 13 And We send down from the clouds water pouring forth abundantly, 14 That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations, 15 And gardens of thick foliage. 16 Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed time, 17 It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 and the mountains move, and vaporize. 20 Indeed, Gehenna (Hell) has become an ambush, 21 A dwelling place for the Taghun (those who transgress the boundry limits set by Allah like polytheists, disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah, hyprocrites, sinners, criminals, etc.), 22 therein they shall abide for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Save scalding water and corruption. 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 And all things We have recorded in a Book. 29 'Taste! We shall not increase you except in punishment' 30
