Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By the winds (or angels or the Messengers of Allah) sent forth one after another. 1 and then storming on with a tempest's force! 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 And those [angels] who deliver a message 5 to serve as an excuse or a warning. 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 When the stars shall be extinguished, 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 The mountains reduced to dust and blown away, 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 For what day has the term [of all this] been set? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 What will explain to you what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 So We serve the sinners. 18 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 24 Made We not the earth to be a housing 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 28 [They will be told], "Proceed to that which you used to deny. 29 “Move towards the shadow of the smoke having three branches.” 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 34 This is the day on which they shall not speak, 35 nor shall they be permitted to offer excuses. 36 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If now you have any strategy, use it against Me. 39 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 40
