Nay, by the moon, 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 and by the day when it dawns (with its radiance), 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 a warning to humans, 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 (They will be) in Gardens (of Delight): they will question each other, 40 about the sinners. 41 What led you into the Scorching Fire? 42 They will answer: "We were not among those who prayed; 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 WHAT, THEN, is amiss with them that they turn away from all admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
