The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man! surely you must strive (to attain) to your Lord, a hard striving until you meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But he who is given his ledger from behind his back 10 he shall call for destruction 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 So by oath of the late evening’s light. 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except to those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for theirs is an unfailing recompense. 25
