The 'Aad belied the sent ones. 123 When their fellowman Hud said to them, “Do you not fear?” 124 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 125 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 126 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 127 What, do you build on every prominence a sign, sporting, 128 “And prefer strong palaces, that perhaps you may live for ever?” 129 "And when you seize, seize you as tyrants? 130 "Be, then, conscious of God and pay heed unto me: 131 And be careful of (your duty to) Him Who has given you abundance of what you know. 132 Provided you with grazing livestock and children 133 And gardens and springs. 134 I fear for you the chastisement of an Awesome Day." 135 They said, 'Alike it is to us, whether thou admonishest, or art not one of the admonishers; 136 This is but a custom of the ancients. 137 And we shall not be doomed. 138 And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 139 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and merciful. 140
