The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Woe to the stinters who, 1 Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, 2 but when they have to measure or weigh whatever they owe to others, give less than what is due! 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 (To be raised) for a Great Day? 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjar (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 A Register inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 And none can deny it but the Transgressor beyond bounds the Sinner! 12 When Our revelations are recited before him, he says: "These are fables of long ago." 13 No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day. 15 Further, they will enter the Fire of Hell. 16 Then shall it be said: This is what you gave the lie to. 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Verily, Al-Abrar (the pious who fear Allah and avoid evil) will be in delight (Paradise). 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 You will recognize in their faces the radiance of pleasure. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 And it is mixed with Tasneem. 27 A spring whereof drink those nearest to Allah. 28 Lo! the guilty used to laugh at those who believed, 29 when them passed them by winking at one another, 30 and whenever they return to people of their own kind, they return full of jests; 31 and when they saw them, they said [scornfully], "These men have surely gone astray," 32 Yet they were not sent to be their guardians. 33 But on this Day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Are not the disbelievers paid for what they used to do? 36
