The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 and then manage the affairs of the Universe (according to their Lord's commands). 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 Unable to lift their gaze. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 "Even after we are crumbled bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 When lo! they shall be wakeful. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called upon him in the holy valley, twice, 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 So he showed him the great sign, 20 but he denied it and refused [the faith]. 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 you pay attention 25 Verily, in this is an instructive admonition for whosoever fears Allah. 26
