Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
Ya-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 I swear by the Quran full of wisdom 2 verily, thou art indeed one of God's message-bearers, 3 On a straight path. 4 The sending down of the Mighty, the Most Merciful 5 so that you may warn a people whose ancestors were not warned before wherefore they are heedless. 6 The sentence is surely justified against most of them, for they do not believe. 7 We have put fetters around their necks which reach up to their chins so that they are standing with their heads upright, 8 And We have set a bar before them and a bar behind them, and (thus) have covered them so that they see not. 9 And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe. 10 You can warn only him who follows the Admonition and fears the Merciful Lord without seeing Him. Give such a one good tidings of forgiveness and a generous reward. 11 Verily, We give life to the dead, and We record that which they send before (them), and their traces [their footsteps and walking on the earth with their legs to the mosques for the five compulsory congregational prayers, Jihad (holy fighting in Allah's Cause) and all other good and evil they did, and that which they leave behind], and all things We have recorded with numbers (as a record) in a Clear Book. 12
