Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Is with him the knowledge of the unseen so that he sees? 35 Has he not heard what is contained in the Book of Moses, 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 And that his effort will soon be scrutinised? 40 And only then will he receive his recompense in full; 41 and that the final end is unto thy Lord, 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 and that He it is Who causes death and grants life, 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that He will bring about the Second Creation; 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 that it was He that destroyed ancient Aad 50 Thamud, 51 and before them the nation of Noah, they exceeded in evil and were insolent. 52 And the overthrown cities did He overthrow, 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 So, which of your Lord's bounties will you doubt?” 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The near event draws nigh. 57 apart from God none can disclose it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
