Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the sky is cleft asunder; 1 and when the stars are scattered, 2 when the seas overflow; 3 when the graves are overturned, 4 Each soul shall know that which it sent afore and that which it left behind. 5 O man! What has deceived you away from your Lord, the Most Beneficent? 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 and set you in whatever form He pleased? 8 Despite this, you deny the Day of Judgment, 9 And yet, verily, there are ever-watchful forces over you, 10 Illustrious scribes 11 and these honorable scribes know whatever you do. 12 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 roasting in it on the Day of Recompense 15 and then shall never come out of it. 16 And what could make thee conceive what that Judgment Day will be? 17 Again: what will make you realize what the Day of Judgement will be? 18 It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah's. 19
