And if they call you a liar, say: My work is for me and your work for you; you are clear of what I do and I am clear of what you do. 41 And among them are those who listen to you. But can you cause the deaf to hear, although they will not use reason? 42 And among them are those who look at you. But can you guide the blind although they will not [attempt to] see? 43 Surely God does not wrong anyone; they wrong themselves. 44 And on the day when He will gather them as though they had not stayed but an hour of the day, they will know each other. They will perish indeed who called the meeting with Allah to be a lie, and they are not followers of the right direction. 45 When if We show you them suffering Our retribution or you die before their suffering, (they will not be able to escape Our punishment) they will all return to Us. God bears witness to whatever they do. 46 Every nation has its Messenger. Then, when their Messenger comes the matter is justly decided between them; they are not wronged. 47 And they say: When will this promise be fulfilled, if ye are truthful? 48 Say, “I have no autonomy to benefit or hurt myself, except what Allah wills*; for every nation is a fixed promise; when their promise comes, they cannot postpone it nor can they advance it one moment. (* To empower me.) 49 Say: 'Have you considered? If His chastisement comes upon you by night or day, what part of it will the sinners seek to hasten? 50 Is it (only) then, when it hath befallen you, that ye will believe? What! (Believe) now, when (until now) ye have been hastening it on (through disbelief)? 51 Then it shall be said to the evildoers: 'Taste the punishment of eternity! Shall you be recompensed except according to what you earned' 52 They ask you if what you say is true? Tell them: 'Yes, by my Lord, this is altogether true, and you have no power to prevent the chastisement from befalling.' 53
