Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 With it came down the spirit of Faith and Truth- 193 Upon your heart, for you to convey warning. 194 In a clear Arabic language. 195 This is (indicated) in the Books of earlier people. 196 Is it not a Sign to them - (to wit, the Makkans) - that the learned men of the Children of Israel know that? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 And had he recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Thus have We caused it to enter the hearts of the sinners. 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 They will therefore say, “Will we get some respite?” 203 Seek haste then they with our torment? 204 What thinkest thou? If We give them enjoyment of days for many years, 205 Yet there comes to them at length the (Punishment) which they were promised! 206 of what avail will be the provisions of life which they have been granted to enjoy? 207 We never destroyed a village that did not have warners 208 and reminded: for, never do We wrong [anyone]. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 And it behoves them not, and they have not the power to do (it). 211 Indeed they have been banished from the place of hearing. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn thou thy clan, the nearest ones. 214 and spread the wings of thy tenderness over all of the believers who may follow thee; 215 but if they disobey thee, say: "I am free of responsibility for aught that you may do!" 216 And rely on the Mighty, the Merciful, 217 Who seeth thee standing forth (in prayer), 218 and when you turn among those who prostrate themselves. 219 Surely He is the Hearing, the Knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend on every forgerer steeped in sin, 222 who lends an ear to them, and most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, the erring follow them. 224 Do you not see that they wander about in every valley 225 and preaching what they themselves never practice. 226 Except those who believed and did good deeds, and profusely remembered Allah, and took revenge after they had been wronged*; and soon the unjust will come to know upon which side they will be overturned**. (* The Muslim poets who praise Allah and the Prophet. ** The disbelievers will be punished.) 227
God the Almighty always says the truth.
