And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud. 28 So, when I have made him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, do ye fall down, prostrating yourselves unto him. 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 Said He, 'Then go thou forth hence; thou art accursed. 34 And indeed, upon you is the curse until the Day of Recompense." 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 "Till the predetermined time." 38 Iblis said: "My Lord! In the manner You led me to error, I will make things on earth seem attractive to them and lead all of them to error, 39 Except the chosen ones among Your creatures." 40 (To which God) said: "This way is right by Me. 41 and you have no authority over My servants except the erring ones who follow you. 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 with seven gates leading into it, each gate receiving its allotted share of sinners. 44
