And when the sent angels came to the house of Lut. 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 'No' they replied: 'We bring you (news) of that concerning which they were doubting. 63 and we are bringing thee the certainty [of its fulfilment]: for, behold, we are speaking the truth indeed. 64 Depart with your family in a part of the night and walk behind them and let none of you turn round. Go to a place where you are commanded' 65 And We decreed unto him this commandment because the last of those was to be cut off in the early morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 Exclaimed [Lot]: "Behold, these are my guests: so put me not to shame, 68 "But fear Allah, and shame me not." 69 They answered: "Have we not forbidden thee [to offer protection] to any kind of people?" 70 He said: 'Here are my daughters; take them (in marriage), if you would be doing' 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 and thereupon the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at sunrise. 73 We turned the town upside-down and showered on them lumps of baked clay. 74 Verily, in all this there are messages indeed for those who can read the signs: 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 Indeed in this are signs for the believers. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 So we took vengeance on them; and lo! they both are on a high-road plain to see. 79
