A group of his people who disbelieved him and had called the Day of Judgment a lie and whom We had made prosperous in this life, said, "He is a mere mortal like you. He eats and drinks as you do. 33 "If you were to obey a human being like yourselves, then verily! You indeed would be losers. 34 Doth he promise you that you, when ye are dead and have become dust and bones, will (again) be brought forth? 35 ۞ Far-fetched, utterly far-fetched is what you are being promised. 36 There is nothing but our present life; we die, and we live, and we shall not be raised up. 37 He is naught but a man who has forged against God a lie, and we will not believe him.' 38 (The apostle prayed): "O Lord, deliver me, for they accuse me of lies." 39 He said: In a little while they surely will become repentant. 40 And the Cry seized them in justice and We made them withered. So begone with the harmdoing nation. 41 Then after them, We created other generations. 42 No people can hasten their term, nor can they delay (it). 43 Then We sent our messengers one after another. Whenever its messenger came unto a nation they denied him; so We caused them to follow one another (to disaster) and We made them bywords. A far removal for folk who believe not! 44 Then We sent Moses and his brother Aaron with Our miracles and clear authority 45 Towards Firaun and his court members – in response they were haughty, and they were in dominance. 46 They therefore said, “Shall we believe in two humans like ourselves, whereas their nation is servile to us?” 47 So they denied them both [Musa (Moses) and Harun (Aaron)] and became of those who were destroyed. 48 And We gave the Book to Moses so that they may be guided. 49 And We made the son of Mary and his mother a portent, and We gave them refuge on a height, a place of flocks and watersprings. 50
