O YOU APOSTLES! Partake of the good things of life, and do righteous deeds: verily, I have full knowledge of all that you do. 51 Surely this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord; so fear Me.' 52 Then they cut their affair among them in regard to the Scriptures; each band in that which is with them rejoicing. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 Do they think that what We extend to them of wealth and children 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Surely they who from fear of their Lord are cautious, 57 who have full faith in the Signs of their Lord; 58 and do not ascribe partners to Him; 59 And those who give whatsoever they give, while their hearts are anxious that unto their Lord they are to be returners. 60 These people hasten to perform goodness, and it is they who shall reach it first. 61 And We tax not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 But their hearts are in ignorance of this (Koran); and they have deeds besides that which they are doing. 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 Implore not today; verily ye from Us are not to be succoured. 65 Surely My signs have been rehearsed unto you, and upon your heel ye were wont to draw back. 66 Stiff-necked, discoursing thereof by night, reviling. 67 Have they not pondered the saying, or came there upon them that which came not upon their fathers, the ancients? 68 Or know they not their messenger, and so reject him? 69 Do they say he is possessed? Rather he has brought them the truth, but most of them are averse to the truth. 70 Had the truth followed their caprices, the heavens and the earth and whosoever in them is had surely corrupted. Nay, We brought them their Remembrance, but from their Remembrance they turned. 71 Do you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) ask any fee from them? So the reward of your Lord is the best; and He is the Best Provider of Sustenance. 72 (Muhammad), you certainly have called them to the right path, 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly. 75 And indeed We grasped them with punishment, so neither did they submit themselves to their Lord, nor do they cry humbly. 76 until We open before them a gate of harsh punishment and then they will be dumbfounded. 77
